Boys Don't Cry, 2018
One day I left my house without knowing that I would not come back until two months later.
This project comes after the assault on me while kissing another man. I was immobilized for two months in a clinic. During this period, my phone was the only link to the outside world and the only photographic tool I had at my disposal. These images arise with notes, like a diary. The images, taken with a mobile application, refer to a new trend in photographs shared on social networks, whose filters reflect the aesthetics of films from the 1990s.
1990 is the date when homosexuality was removed from the list of mental illnesses by the World Health Organization. Twenty-eight years later, kissing a person of the same sex in public is a political gesture.
